Meebo rocks!

March 14, 2006

I felt kind of criminal for not adding certain few sites in my preferred list of web 2.0 applications as those were just a mare few out of the huge list of sites I came to fancy. Well, we are talking about the next generation of web after all! With desktop like web applications being released with fresh concepts, each with its own fresh set of amazing features; it’s enigmatic to choose one over another one. But Meebo undoubtedly stands out as an application with unparalleled set of features.

It doesn’t take rocket scientists to produce a great idea and Meebo is an awesome example of that. Meebo is basically an AJAX-based chat client that allows you to use all of your favorites such as AIM, Google Talk, Jabber, ICQ, and more. If you have used Gaim that you’ll probably know what I’m talking about here. I have been using this awesome web 2.0 application for a few weeks now and I’m getting more and more impressed with each and every day I use it. A great aqua-like interface with no occurrence of refreshing while dragging IM windows or your friends’ information is one the many amazing features that impressed me. The chatting platform is also great and is simply an ideal choice for those individuals who are not allowed to install or use chat clients on office computers. You can even set messages away and leave your browser window open! Meebo does all this without using any technology such as Java, which is simply an amazing asset.

The thing I personally found most useful about Meebo is the painless login process. With courtesy to my pathetically slow LAN connection, troubles while logging in to the IM clients has became some sort of a cliché. And not to mention the numerous times when I got disconnected while being in the middle of a conversation. So far I didn’t have any kind of problems with Meebo, including those. Its simply awesome and a must check out! Spread the word!
